The Mother is an archetype found throughout history in many different contexts, including in mythology and psychology. It is a fundamental part of the collective unconsciousness, and most obvious, the mother is one of our parents.

Every archetype has many manifestations, and these can be subverted, but the pure archetype always remains the same. An example of subversion of the mother archetype is obsessiveness. The mother is associated with nurture, whilst obsession is a subverted manifestation of it.
The Mother is the embodiment of the collective unconscious and nature, also associated with the unconscious, psyche, and inner world. While the father protects from the external world, the mother protects against dangers of the inner world. Much like the womb, the unconscious appears dark as it is unseen, yet from it comes birth. From this unconscious comes our life force, creativity, and ability for change and renewal. It is from here that we create and "give life" to things. It determines our emotions and relationships.
In Jungian thought, the mother plays a key role in a person's personality by providing a model for behavior, influencing a person's emotions and relationships. Based on how the mother is, developed perceptions can be vastly different. Codependancy, enmeshment, obsessiveness and possessiveness stem from failure to properly integrate this archetype, often caused due to negative experience with the mother. People develop their connection to their inner world and also express it based upon the mother. When not integrated, they are either aggressively similar or the complete opposite. They may develop a constant need for reassurance and care, fear of abandonment, clinginess, dependency, addictions, low libido and energy, feel life is too hard, compulsive caretaking and other issues. They may stay in bad relationships and not want to leave. They feel disconnected from their emotions and relies on others to regulate and decide them, not knowing how they should feel.
This archetype finds immense strength in protecting those it loves. An issue arises if this goes too far: a mother may feel like she is protecting her child but causes issues by overbearing mothering. A gift of the mother archetype is psychic awareness and empathy. The negative manifestation is a person who either unconsciously feeds on or obsessesively helps with other people's emotions, yet fail to recognize their own.
An imbalance in a parental archetype, caused by the behavior of a parent or motherly figure, can cause many issues in life.
This pure resonance profoundly helps and allows you to heal. With it, you realize how a mother should be, instead of how they were, and this heals motherly wounds. This can be a cathartic healing process, deeply personal and unique. This field may be used regardless of gender, as it is able to help everyone.
Communicate with this resonance as you would a mother. Say your issues. Say the things you wish you could to your mother, good and bad, and even all the problems you have with it. The resonance will heal this. Releasing it all, you pave the way for a healthier relationship with this archetype.
